Today

A high-priority lead lands in the morning and waits. Nobody is looking at that screen, so it is late afternoon before the right person hears, and by then somebody else has called them back.

What it connects

The gap it closes

The lead came in at nine and somebody picked it up at four, because it was sitting in a system nobody had open that morning. The won deal reaches finance a week late, from a corridor conversation. Your team is already in Slack all day, so this is where the news goes: the moment something happens in the business, the person who needs to know is told, by name.

Where it fits

Sits in the window your team already has open, carrying the news out of the system nobody watches.

Questions

What people ask

Where exactly do these messages land?

Three places, and you choose per message. Straight to one person, including whoever owns that client. A private channel, for a named group. Or a public channel, where everyone sees it. That is the scope, and most businesses end up using all three for different news.

What sort of things would we post?

The moments you currently find out about late. A new lead marked high priority. A task assigned to someone. A deal moving stage. A form submitted. Anything that happens in the business and matters to somebody who is not looking at the screen it happened on.

Does it just say something happened, or does it say what?

It says what. The detail travels with the message, so the channel reads who it was and what they did. Someone glancing at their phone knows whether it needs them right now, without opening anything or asking in the thread.

Will our channels read like a machine talking?

A message to a private channel arrives as though a person sent it. It sits in the conversation the way anything else does. The team replies to it and picks the work up in the thread, rather than scrolling past one more alert.

Our team already ignores notifications. Why is this different?

Because it goes to a named person, in the app they answer all day, with the detail already in it. A general channel is easy to leave to somebody else. A message addressed to you about your client is harder to walk past.
