Today

One pin, and somebody spent the morning putting it on six boards one at a time, because Pinterest rewards that and doing it by hand was the only way.

When you tick the boards it belongs on Income Mavericks opens every one of those boards with a pin of its own on each, with the link back to you
What it connects

The gap it closes

Pinterest is not a feed you shout into, it is a set of shelves you built. A recipe belongs on the dinners board and the winter board and the one for the client whose products are in it, so somebody makes the pin once and then files it by hand, six times, opening the same window over and over because that is what Pinterest rewards and there was never another way.

Here you make it once and tick every shelf it belongs on. Each board gets its own real pin, carrying the picture, the words and the link back to the page you want people to land on.

Where it fits

Reach for it when what you make belongs in more than one place on Pinterest. It suits a business whose boards are organised by room, season, service or customer, rather than one board holding everything. You connect the business account you pin from. It is added in the planner, beside your other accounts.

What it does once connected

What stops being your job

01

One thing you made, on every shelf it belongs on

Tick the boards while you write it, as many as twenty-five. Each one gets a pin of its own, and nobody opens Pinterest to do it again.

02

Every pin carries the way back to you

Every pin goes out holding the address you want people to land on. Someone who finds it months later arrives on your page, not on a dead end.

03

A shelf that does not exist yet is not a detour

Start a new board while you are making the pin, and it goes out to that one too. Your filing grows as the work does, rather than in a tidy-up nobody schedules.

In practice

Watch one go through

One job going through, start to finish, with nobody watching it. The steps are what this connection actually does; the times beside them are illustrative.

Questions

What people ask

We put the same pin on several boards. Does that mean making it several times?

No. Choose the boards when you make it, up to twenty-five of them. Each board gets its own published pin, from one thing you wrote once. The hand-filing is the part that goes.

Are those real pins, or one pin showing up in several places?

Real ones. Every board you picked ends up with a pin of its own. It sits there the way it would if somebody had pinned it by hand. That is what makes a board worth following.

What if one of the boards has a problem when it goes out?

The rest still publish. One board having trouble leaves the others alone, so a morning's filing is not lost to a single shelf. You deal with the one and the rest are already up.

We thought of a new board halfway through writing the pin.

Make it there and then, without leaving what you are writing. The new board joins the ones you already ticked and gets its pin with them. Boards tend to be invented at the moment you need them, which is exactly when this lets you.

What does a pin actually carry when it goes out?

A picture or a video, a title, a description, and the address it sends people to. That last one is the point of pinning at all. It is how somebody who found you on Pinterest ends up on your site.
