Reviews answered from the same screen as everything else

Fig. 01 — What changes
Today

A two-star review goes up on a Tuesday and sits unanswered for nine days, because seeing it means someone opening the listing and nobody opens the listing.

When a review is left Income Mavericks opens the same stream as your texts with a reply that posts back publicly under it
What it connects

The gap it closes

A review is the only message in the business that strangers read. It sits under your name in the search result, and the reply under it is read as carefully as the review itself. What usually happens is that nobody sees it for nine days, because seeing it means someone remembering to open the listing, and the listing is not where anyone works. Then a bad one gets answered in the wrong tone by whoever found it, or not at all, which reads worse. Connect the profile and three things move into the room where your team already is: reviews land in the same stream as the texts and the emails, and the reply you write there appears publicly under the review on Google; calls placed off the listing are counted, so the money you spend on being found can be judged against the phone ringing; and your hours, address and photos are changed in one place and go out to Google from there. There is one thing to know going in: chat on a business listing ended on 31 July 2024, according to Google’s own notice, and nobody has been able to message you there since. What works now is attaching a number so the customer who would have chatted sends a text instead, which arrives in the same stream as the review.

Where it fits

Reach for this where being found on a map is how the phone rings. One shop, one clinic, one branch with its own address, its own hours and its own star rating. Multi-branch works too, and each address is its own connection.

The ledger

What stops being your job

01

You answer where you already are

The review arrives beside the messages your team reads all day. The reply written there shows publicly under it on Google.

02

Calls off the listing get counted

The phone rings from the map result and that call is recorded as such. Being found stops being a feeling and becomes a number.

03

Hours and photos change once

Christmas hours, a new address, a new shopfront picture. Set it here and Google is told, so the door and the listing agree.

It sits with the rest of your connections in settings, where you pick the listing to attach. Your hours, address and photos live under Reputation, in Listings. The profile has to be verified with Google first, and you need owner or manager access to it.

Questions

What people ask

What does connecting the profile give us?

Three things. Reviews come into the same stream your team already reads, and a reply written there posts publicly under the review. Calls made from the listing are tracked. And your hours, address and photos are edited in one place and pushed out to Google. That is the scope.

Can we answer the chat messages people send on Google?

According to Google's own notice, chat on a business listing ended on 31 July 2024, for everybody, so there are no new Google chats to answer. What replaces it is a number attached to your listing. The customer who would have chatted texts or messages you instead, and it arrives in the same stream as the reviews.

We set up WhatsApp and it is not showing on our listing. Why?

Google shows one number, and a text number takes precedence over WhatsApp. So a listing with both displays the text one. Pick which you want customers to see, and set that side up on the profile.

We have twelve branches. How does that work?

Each address is its own listing on Google and each one is connected on its own. So twelve connections, twelve review streams, twelve sets of hours. The upside is that a branch manager sees their branch. The work is the setting up, once.

Who in our team needs to do the connecting?

Someone who owns or manages the Google listing itself, which is often not the person who does the marketing. Worth finding out before you start. On plenty of businesses that person is the founder, or an agency who set it up years ago.
